No matter what you want to do, somebody is going to tell you that you can’t. It’s almost guaranteed. I’m sure you have things in the back of your mind that you would like to do. Maybe you want to date a model. Maybe you want to find a better job (or quit work altogether). Maybe you want to learn Spanish and move to South America to live like a queen for pennies on the dollar. This is what you’ll hear:
“Get real, you can’t do that.”
How many of these naysayers have actually walked in your shoes? How can they really know what’s possible if they have never tried?
Molly’s has a goal that is as “outrageous” as the examples listed above: to take our iced coffee, which was created in Hoda’s kitchen, and get it sold in your local supermarket. We heard every excuse and doubt in the book. “You don’t have the money. You won’t find the ingredients. No one will carry it.” Or my personal favorite…
“Dude, you’re an fuckin’ dumbass.”
I’m sipping out of our very first bottle, straight from the factory. Still impossible?
Ignore everyone else - you will never know for sure until you try.

People say to never settle for less than you deserve. Do you REALLY know what you’re worth? How much do you deserve on a scale of 1-10? How do you know when you’ve reached that magic number (for whatever it is you are appraising) and can just live happily ever after? Not as easy as you thought, huh?
Ironically, it seems like your safest bet is to never play it safe. When you stop taking risks, learning, and driving forward, you are selling yourself short, plain and simple.
The most common time to relax and get comfortable is after achieving a goal or coming into good fortune. It is easy to get to so wrapped up in a positive event that you celebrate your way into a worse place than you were before! This is a surefire way to live a mediocre, forgettable life - is that what you deserve?
Never say “this is good enough.” Never stop driving forward. Never stop pushing yourself. You’re achievements and potential will be endless.
And what’s wrong with getting more than you deserve?
:: Meet Molly’s Newest Member - Brian ::
Hi Everyone!
After six years of studying and working in the nation’s capital, I am happily joining Hoda and Jason as part of the Molly’s team!
During a weekend getaway to the Jersey Shore this past spring, I met Hoda at a bar while having drinks with my friends on a Saturday afternoon - we hit it off right away. We discussed how she and Jason had just opened their business a couple weeks prior and how it was already off to a great start. Working in the food industry had always been a dream of mine (it’s what I went to college for!), so I was very excited by everything she was saying. However, when the weekend came to an end, I was on the road back to DC and my corporate-style cubicle job.
As the months went by, Hoda and I managed to stay in touch. During this time I was becoming increasingly frustrated with my work schedule and lifestyle. I wasn’t sure how much longer I’d be able to hold up. Then one day, a couple weeks before Thanksgiving, I received a call from Hoda asking if I would be interested in joining Molly’s. She and Jason had taken on a ton of new projects and needed some extra help. I knew I would have to take a huge leap of faith - but it took me all of 30 seconds to make up my mind.
By Christmas, I had quit my job and made the move to New Jersey. Now with three creative, ambitious minds working to make Molly’s the best that it can be, I have no doubts 2013 is going to be incredibly successful year for all of us. Stay tuned!
